Hi, I'm Michelle.

Silly Chicken was named after my first baby, and today I am inspired by my two beautiful little girls - my favorite humans and the playful spirit behind everything I create.

I craft hand-embroidered children's sweaters designed to feel special, cozy, and one-of-a-kind, because childhood should be soft, joyful, and full of personality. Alongside my signature sweaters, I design and sew custom name baskets, children's pants and shorts made from reclaimed fabrics, and a rotating selection of beanies, onesies, blankets, denim, and appliqué pieces.

Proudly serving Sherwood Park, Edmonton, Calgary, and shipping across Canada.

My Operating Principles

  • Pure Handwork: Every single embroidery stitch is applied by hand. No machines, no shortcuts.

  • Strictly Capped: Only a few commissions are taken at a time, ensuring detail never suffers.

  • Made for Meaning: Keepsakes crafted for real families, marked milestones, and heirloom gifts.

Reclaimed & Sewn

  • Repurposed Fabrics: Giving vintage sheets, curtains, and towels a second life. These textiles are machine-sewn into sweet pants, shorts, and detailed appliqués, keeping quality fabrics out of landfills and in everyday wardrobes.

Thanks for being here and supporting handmade,

Michelle
